Advancing Anti-corruption Reforms in Azerbaijan
The Commission on Combating Corruption of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe will hold a conference “Advancing Anti-corruption Reforms in Azerbaijan”. The conference will take place on Thursday, 19 November 2009, at the Hotel Ambassador.
The aim of the conference is to review the anti-corruption achievements during the last two years and to discuss how these initiatives might be improved in future in order to facilitate improvements in the strategic anti-corruption framework, the efficient passage of high-quality legislation, its implementation, and fulfilment of GRECO and MONEYVAL recommendations and good practices. The event will bring together experts and representatives from the Council of Europe Secretariat, representatives from governmental authorities, international organisations, the Milli Majlis (Parliament), civil society and the media. There will be inter alia an address by Mr Bakhtiyar Aliyev, Member of Parliament and Member of the Commission on Combating Corruption of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as Ms Veronika Kotek, Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe to Azerbaijan.
The event will start at 10:30 and last until 14:00.
