Essay Contest for Youth!

Educational Centre for Youth in co-opeartion with the Council of Europe Information Office in Azerbaijan, within the frames of the activities devoted to the 60th anniversary of the Council of Europe, announces the essay contest named “Council of Europe for youth”.

Main objective of the contest:
Learn the thoughts and ideas of Azerbaijani youth about the Council of Europe.

Topics for the essays:
• Council of Europe – 6o years’ history
• Accession of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe – history and necessity
• Commitments that Azerbaijan undertook before the Council of Europe and the current situation
• Cooperation between the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan
• The Council of Europe and the Azerbaijani youth

Please note, that these topics only bear the guiding character. The contest participants are free to use other creative topics on the Council of Europe.

Main requirements:
• The essays should be written only by youth;
• The essays should not be longer than 3 pages, A4 format, font Times New Roman, size 12, with single line spacing.   

Language:
The essays presented for the contest should be written in Azerbaijani language.

Results:
Starting from 10 December, all the essays presented for the contest will be reviewed by the expert group organised by the Educational Center for Youth. Three essays that became winners of the contest will be published in the next issue of “Telebe” (Student) newspaper.  The young winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded with the special diplomas and presents.

Deadline:
The essays will be received up to 17.00 on 10 December 2009.

The essays can be sent both to the address stated below and to the office@ecy-az.org e-mail address. For the e-mails, in the subject line, please, indicate “Council of Europe”.
